Be honest with yourself, you do not always know what your child is watching or looking at on the computer and it is scary to imagine what they could get lured in to and the damage it could do to your children. The Internet is a very large place with many threats in fact there is over 70 million websites which consist of about 8.4 million pornography websites openly available to anyone with the click of a button. It is not hard to access this content usually you just have to click a button saying you are over 18 which is a real worry because it is not hard to lie over the Internet.

If that is not enough for you here is an appalling fact, over 100,000 sites offer illegal child pornography that could target your child. To show how wide spread this issue is a recent study shows that 90% of 8-16 year olds have viewed pornography online most of them while doing homework. There are many ways for a child to be led to this graphic material some of which consist of ads and popups but there is also their friends at school that could also be an influence. The average first age to be exposed to pornography is 11 years old, that is ridiculous some children would have not even hit puberty by then. But perhaps the most worrying factor is that the largest consumer of pornography is the age group of 12-17 they are not even supposed to be allowed to watch it yet.

I have heard of a lot of parents/guardians and teachers experiencing their beloved children accessing this rancid content and it has puzzled them to how they could let their child be exposed to such terrible content that they have banned the child from the computer. I do see where they are coming from however it is not necessary as there are ways to filter out content like pornography and they are not very hard to do, one of the easiest being the product My Porn Blocker which is a wonderful piece of software that I use my self it filters out all of the harmful content that could harm your children.
